This Program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down

I've got a problem.................quite
serious........I'll be surfing the net........then I'll
click on a hyperlink and then it says: 'This program has
performed an illegal operation and will be shut
down'...........so the I click close then I lose
everything.........Taskbar......Desktop
Icons..............................but then after it's
done that then it'll virtually restart itself but without
turning off the power..........then either the taskbar
will come back and dektop Icons appear..........or I'm
just stuck with a wallpaper and mouse..............or even
the screen goes black........all apart from the
mouse........................any
help????????????????????????????

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
