Illegal Operation

I continue to receive notiuce that IE has performed an illegal operation and
will be shut down when opening Internet Explorer. Have repaired Internet
Explorer multiple times as well as attempted to download newer versions.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi Frank

Try clearing temporary internet files, history and cookies from Tools ->
Internet Options -> General tab.

It might also be adware or spyware related. You can read about this here:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/default.mspx

Lastly, it could just be a third party add-on. If you have Windows XP with
SP2 there's a new dialog for managing addons but it sounds like you're
probably on a different platform. If this is the case, you can only switch
off all third party addons by going to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced
tab -> under "browsing" uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions".
