This is wierd!

Here's the deal. I have two machines at home, one with XP one with 2000. The
XP is set up as the dial up connection to the internet and the 200 box
accesses thru it. All is good!

Then I take the XP box and move it to another city (I am working out of town
for an extended period). In my new location the XP box is set up to access
the web thru another XP box that manages the dial out process. The network
features (file and printer sharing, etc...) work fine and I can get to the
internet. The issue is that as soon as I set up the new network connection
my screen resolution mysteriously changes from 1024x760 32bit to 640x480
4bit!!!!! If I change it back it freezes for about three minutes and changes
back to 640x480.

I have been thru the device manager looking for interrupt and address
conflicts and cannot find any. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the
network and display drivers to no avail.

Any ideas??!?? additional info;
