Why doesn't microsoft do something with reguarding about
java , it seem that there is many that are having
problems with this and it doesn't matter as to whether
its the latest version or not , I hope that a Microsoft
Rep would read this and past it on to whom it may
concern " SUN JAVA SUCKS and we are left with no other
choice but to use it ... Microsoft invent something
better then this garbage Sun java , And please don't tell
me that your java is working okay because i have heard
from many that they hate Sun java and it sucks , Yes i
know Microsoft has nothing to do with how Sun conduct
their business , but hey if you are going to invent a
software at least you should have it where it can have
other choices to select from , we are all left with using
Sun garbage and this should of never happen in my opinion

I assume you are talking about the JVM. If so please elaborate on its
faults.

Java never belonged to MS to begin with... so that's how it ended.
Non-specific raniting is bull.

Hi, isn't the reason why MS can't do anything about java because when MS
included it with the OS Sun took them to court?

No it is more like Sun licensed Java to Microsoft as is. Microsoft took it upon themselves
to modify Java w/o Sun's permission and made its abilities more proprietrary. Sun sued on
the grounds Microsoft violated the terms of the license. MS lost and Sun won.

1) When you wish to rant about something, it always pays to know a little
about the target of your grievance - otherwise you just end up looking a
complete idiot.

2) 'Java' isn't "a software" it's a technology (just like DirectX or the
..NET Framework).

3) MS do not own the Java technology - it was developed by Sun in 1995 and
has been licensed to many software developers for creation of Web content.
The Sun Java applet is the original (it's Sun's technology and, unless they
license it to another company it will be the only Java applet available).

4) They are hardly likely to license it to MS again - as that was the reason
they took MS to court - and won (with the concession that MS could see out
the remainder of its original licence period; it just wouldn't be renewed).
The crux of the case was that MS had modified the technology (as well as
lying that its modified version was cross-platform when, in reality, it
would only run on Windows), outside the bounds of the agreement, and that in
doing so it was deemed in breach of contract. The judge agreed and MS lost.

Get your fact straight before ranting. Sun Java *IS* Java because Sun
developed it. There is no such thing as Microsoft Java. MS have not, do not
and will not own the Java technology (and I will reiterate that it is a
technology, *NOT* software).

As the result of a lawsuit by Sun Microsystems, and the ensuing
settlement, Microsoft was not allowed to provide its own Java Virtual
Machine to Windows XP users. You can get almost the same functionality
by downloading Sun's version of Java from
http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html. If you want the wider website
compatibility of Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine, it is still available
from a lot of 3rd-party web sites, one of which is here:
http://www.virtualmachine.tk/.

If you do choose the Microsoft JVM, be sure to apply a needed
security patch.

READ THIS, MS and Sun has come to an agreement, that MS can extend their
support for the original Virtual Machine till 2007, Believe me I'm not a big
supporter of MS, but they are bound by laws and Courts when they integrate
other's software into their own. Almost a DeJa Vue', the same preaching
(EULA) that they push, it backfired on them with Sun, But personally I keep
the lastest version of Sun installed on My PC, Never a problem whatsoever
with it, and I am running XP Home SP2. But those who are having trouble with
Sun's new Java, Trust me, they offer alot better close support than a
company (MS) would, Would you volunteer alot of Man Hours on products other
then your Own. I would not think So. And for those who POINT FINGERS at
others, MS, SUN, etc. Just remember when your pointing one finger at them,
there are 3 pointing back at you. Think about it. :-)

Hey Miss ... I don't care what it is , whether its a
technology or software , It still sucks ! , And so does
SUN TECHNOLOGY , You know most people have real lives and
don't spend all there time on a computer , All I hear
from novices user is , What is this java error I keep
getting " So Miss if these novices user don't understand
this crap doesn't make them a idiot , people calling
people idiots are most likely an idiot themself ... Its
strange have most advance user are keeping MS Virtual
Machine " Technology " around or better yet still using
it , What does that say about SUN TECHNOLOGY , It SUCKS

PS : It wouldn't surprise me if "MISS" is a co-worker of
that company that SUCKS !!!

Correction in typo that isn't " Its strange "have" its
How most advance user "

One last thing MISS I never said Microsoft own this
garbage technology , If you could read , I said we
should have other options beside being left with no other
choice then to use this garbage technology from SUN

I know from myself if Microsoft was to ever use a
different technology that I would never use SUN

Thanks for your input and you are correct and justified in response as is
the OP, in many areas. However; MS needs to read these type of posts. In
which they have and have since responded to my request. Work in progress.
