This folder may contain private items

I have several mailboxes and frequently wish to move a folder of messages
stored temporarily in one of them to another of them. I am getting an error
message saying this folder cannot be moved as it may contain private items.
I am not using any privacy settings; I show as the owner of each of the
boxes; I cannot add myself as a delegate to a box I already own. What is the
problem and how do I fix it?

Items can get the "private" sensitivity level set by the sender. You can
have "Owner" permissions without having the permission to see private items.

I am our server administrator and I have set Owner permissions for myself on
all of these mailboxes. I checked the owner settings and they had
automatically checked all of the add/delete etc. buttons.

I am also the owner of all of these folders. I checked the permissions and
it was ditto to above.

The majority of the messages in these folders were sent to me by staff
members for whose e-mail boxes I also have owner status with all the boxes
checked.

I have no problem going into one of these folders and grabbing all of the
e-mails (regardless of sender) and moving them to a new mailbox in which I
must set up the appropriate folder to contain them.

So if I can move them that way, I don't understand why I can't move the
entire folder. I'm using Outlook 2007 Professional but had the same problem
with Outlook 2003. Thanks for the advice though. It caused me to go back
and double check my prior settings.

Yes, but owner permissions isn't the permission you need to check. You need
to check if you have the permission to see private items which is not being
set at folder level but at Tools-> Options-> tab Delegates
