"This file contains repairs made to it by Word...."

G

George M. Lutz

I use Word 2002 on Windows XP Professional.

Whenever I create a new document, when I save it, I get the following
message:

"This file contains repairs made to it by Word. Saving the file will
make these repairs permanent. It is recommended that you view the
repairs before saving the file."

When I "view" the repairs, the "Show Repairs" dialog box contains
"Numbered Styles 1".

How do I stop this message?

Best regards,

George Lutz

Hi George,

Not sure, but it sounds like a style definition in your template has become
corrupt.

You might look at the numbered styles that are defined in your template
(probably normal.dot?), and delete/redefine them.

Or rebuild the template (... have a look at
http://www.word.mvps.org/macwordnew/restorecustomizationcontent.htm so you
don't loose your customizations), but don't copy back the numbered styles.

Regards,
Klaus
