Thinking about switching from Mozilla to Firefox

I've been using Mozilla 1.4 for awhile now, I've been having problems
with it lately so I'm thinking about giving Firefox a try. Will there
be a conflict if I don't uninstall Mozilla before instaiing Firefox?
Also, is it possible to transfer all the emails in my Mozilla mail
inbox so they show up in Thunderbird? Lastly, how easy or hard would
it be to transfer my existing bookmarks over?

No conflicts, and the nightly builds of FireFox (Dear Park) will run
independently of FireFox 1.0.6 Good Luck

If some of my most crucial plug-ins for firefox will work in SeaMonkey,
I'll ditch Firefox/Thunderbird at once :)

There lies the problem. Almost none of the extensions I use on a daily
basis are available for Mozilla. The beauty of Firefox is it's ability to
be customized. Without those extensions, Mozilla is no better for me than
Netscape.

My biggest concern with Firefox and extensions is that this is a great
attack vector (can you say greasemonkey?). The more extensions you add the
more potential for creating vulnerabilities. This is similar to Microsoft
who decided you should have all this extra functionallity at the cost of
reduced security. Just a thought.

PS Having tried Firefox and finding I needed numerous extensions to get what
I wanted I settled on Avant (IE shell) with improved security (ActiveX
blocking, flash blocking, ad blocking, etc.) and tabbed browsing without
having to worry about updating all my extensions etc.

I made the switch. There's no conflict--you can have both installed--and
no o problem tranferring the bookmarks over. Dunno about mail...
