there is limited or no connectivity

I have a computer that is experiencing networking porblems. it says, there is
limited or no connectivity on the networking icon. I know that connection to
outside is fine and network card is working properly as well. I have checked
all the windows components and they are all there. this is really strange. I
have also done a virus check, but was not able to do adware and spyware
checkup because they need to connect to internet for updates. I would really
appreciate it if anyone could help me with this.
