There is a problem updating Windows Defender (Beta 2)

Every time i try to update Windows Defender, it refues to download any
update. My Kaspersky Anti-hacker firewall and Windows firewall are set to
allow Windows Defender to access the internet. The worst part of it is, is
that Windows Defender wouldn't give me a error number to help me fix the
problem.

I run a HP AMD Athlon on a Windows home edtion. I have over 70 GB free on my
main hard drive C. I ran System Restore about a week ago to fix a system file
that was damaged due to a virus attack. Thank for your time and please repliy

Go to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=915105 and follow the instructions.
It should take care of the definition update problem. It worked for me.

What happens if you go to Windows Update and do an Express scan, and
download all offered critical updates?

I have already tried that. When i go to windows update, the file is already
downloaded. So all it does it install it, but it refues to load the new
defintions.
