the truth of replicate?

hi all,

just want to find out, 2 DC in a joint forest that configure to replicate
each other. the site link state there is transitive (can it be?) when the
root domain is turn off , even the other domain already replicate the user,
computer and every thing but it still wont allow the user to log on is it
true?

can a joint forest domain abc.com xyz.com to be transitive?

If the domains are part of the same forest, then yes they can replicate and
yes there can be transitive trusts (between domains).

If the domains are in different forests, then there'll be no replication and
there can't be transitive trusts.

so can i conclude that if the root domain failed , the other domain also
wont work, althought they have replicate each other before?

That will depend on whether or not they are part of the same forest. If
they are domains in a forest, or even trees in a forest, then replication
will occur, and there can be transitive links.

I assume from you saying that they are indeed replicating that these domains
are in the same forest; not necessarily, the same contiguous namespace, but
with the same forest nonetheless. Therefore, there can be transitive
replication.
