The Tools > Customize menu option can be disabled (in all versions of Word, I believe) ... CommandBars("Tools").Controls("Customize...").Enabled = False ' or True Toolbar Customization can be completely disabled in Word 2003 ... Commandbars.DisableCustomize = True ' or False
