The system file is not suitable ...

When I tried to install a game on my computer, it gave me this:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEMS32\AUTOEXEC.NT.for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

I have never had issues with installing anything else before, wether it be
downloaded or from an installation disc.

It also happened when I tried to install an application to allow me to
expand archived music files. Can anyone help me with this? I have been trying
to sort it out for some time now.

Error message when you install or start an MS-DOS or 16-bit
Windows-based program

Also can be caused by a Trojan installing a file windupdater.exe and
creating registry entries for that file.

AVAST (free antivirus software) can be the cause if SP2 is installed:

You can put back the standard version of autoexec.nt by copying a backup
copy held in windows\repair to
windows\system32.

I have looked into what you have suggested.. I went and found many more
spyware type things... when i went to that other website. I did not purchase
the removal program yet, I did try to go through the step by step removal by
typing the cmd thing. I am a novice about this, and cannot find some of the
%system32% things or whatever other files to get into. Is there another way
that I could be made to understand, or is this hopless for me.. and my new
computer that I saved up so much for.. is going to always have this problem?
thanks for your time.

That file is used to set up the environment for running 16 bit programs.
There is at least one Trojan around that damages or deletes it. You can
copy a backup of it from windows\repair to replace it in
windows\system32 and allow your program to run, but you may well find
it gets damaged again, in which case you need to run an anti-virus and
an anti-spyware (such as AdAware SE) with right up to date signature
files

Here are some good references for cleaning up spyware. I have also
listed specific programs that are free that you can use. They are not
too hard to use. You should be able to run them and keep your system
clean with a bit of initial investment in time and learning.

Good sites with info on Viruses and Parasites
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
http://www.spywareinfo.com
Richard Harper’s Guide to Cleaning Pests
http://rgharper.mvps.org/cleanit.htm

Run these programs to check for spyware/malware. After installing
update them, then boot into safe mode and run them. You should update
and run them weekly.

Cwshredder
http://aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php#cwshred

Ad-aware SE

Spybot Search and Destroy

Bazooka Adware and Spyware Scanner

Pest Patrol Free Pest Scanner

If you’re still having problems after running these then run HijackThis
and post the log to one of the specialty forums, _NOT_ this one.

After your system is clean use these programs to help keep it clean:

Spywareblaster

Spywareguard
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sgdownload.html

IE-SPYAD

For viruses, start with Trend Micro’s Sysclean. Download it and the
signature file. Turn off system restore, boot into safe mode and run
sysclean. Boot back into normal mode and run a full AV scan with your
normal AV program. Then turn system restore back on.

You should also regularly run at least two of these online scans in
addition to your regular up to date AV program:

Bit Defender Online Virus Scan:
