The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.

I set security on all of our Win XP SP1 systems some time
ago and whenever I need to install MS Office I rename the
folder GroupPolicy to GroupPolicy.old, reboot and install
the program. On one system I'm getting this message "The
System Administrator has set policies to prevent this
installation." no matter what I try. I have no idea what
I might have done differently with this computer. I have
tried using secedit to reset security but that didn't
help. Any ideas?

Refer to posting on 20 July on same problem, which advised:

Verify that the registry value DisableMSI under the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer

is NOT set to 1 or 2 (if it doesn't exist, it will default to 0 for
WinXP or earlier)

If it is set to 1 or 2, change it to 0.

This worked forme!
