The "Sysinternals" help screen.

I am in the "Process Explorer" part and I want to know what
the color scheme means.

When I access the help menu I get: "Navigation to the
webpage was cancelled. What you can try: retype the
address". What does this mean, and how can I fix it?

Please help, Frank

Navigate to the directory where PE is installed

Double-click on procexp.chm (that is the help file)

When the security dialog box pops up, uncheck "Always ask before
opening this file"

Now PE help should work correctly.

Look in the Options Configure Highlighting for the color scheme.

Thanks I did this but I could not get a screen with the
"security dialogue box" with the uncheck box, though such a
box appears with some of the other programs.

But I got it to work from the container directory in Windows
Explorer.

The file "wmiprvse.exe" is marked in red in Process Explorer
even though I deleted this the other day (it being a virus)
and this indicates it was deleted. If that file is deleted
why does Process Explorer detect it? I also deleted
another virus (srosa.exe) at the same time but this now does
not appear in Process Explorer.

Are there undeleted fragments of "wmiprvse.exe" still on
the computer, and if so how can I delete them?

Okay - that is just my standard copy/paste for "PE help doesn't
work..." - I will work on adjusting it since it did not work for you!

If you think you are or have been infected, I would do this (more
standard copy/paste).

Perform some scans for malicious software, then fix any remaining
issues:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware
detection programs:

Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if desired.

I get that too. Have no idea why. Wireshark shows no attempt at a
network access.

Did what I posted before not fix the PE Help issue for you?

If not, I need to figure it out so I can change or add something to my
copy/paste instructions!

Doh!, Yep, that fixed it.

Thanks, I did this with the "Malwarebytes" and it detected
quite a few viruses. I bought it for $30.00 and set it to
do a routine scan every day at 5am.
