The Start Menu???

Lyn

I really hope that you guys can help me...
I installed a program on my vista computer and then I noticed that a lot of
my programs, for example Microsoft office were missing from my start menu. I
un-installed the program but they didn't come back, so i tried system restore
but that made no difference either.
I'm feeling really desperate here as i can no longer get onto a lot of my
programs. Does anyone know how i can go back to everything showing up on my
start menu???

thanks,

Lyn

Create new shortcuts to your programs in this folder (if you want them to be
available to all users):

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

or in this one (if you want them tho be available to one user only):

C:\Users\%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

These folders can be accessed by right clicking the start menu icon, then
select either Explore All Users or just Explore (user profile folder).

Which program was it that caused this issue ? You can go to Start\Settings\Taskbar and Start Menu\Start Menu\Classic Start Menu\Customize\Add and you can add back the program (s) of your choice to the Start Menu.

It was DVD shrink. I didn't mention that in my original post because I
thought that it being the program concerned would have turned anyone off from
trying to help me. Yeah I can add them back as you say, but a lot of the
time I don't know which part of the program actually starts the program if
you know what I mean...like I don't know what part of the file to do the
sortcut to...
