The specified network name is no longer available - error

I have a Network Attached Storage (NAS) on my home network. It has been
working fine for about 9 months. I use it for backing up files on my home
network therefore, I don't use it every day. Now, I get an error, The
specified network name is no longer available. I recently installed Windows
XP Pro SP 3. I have checked my firewall, infact I disabled it and it did not
nake a difference. I can see the NAS in My Network Neighborhood and I can
see the folders. I cannot access the files. When I try and open a file, I
get the specified network name is no longer available error. It sounds like
something simple, I hope. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate some
help. Thanks!

If your NAS has a browser interface, or special management utility, can
you access it (NAS) from your PC?

First, thanks for the answer, my NAS does not have a browser interface. I
can access the folders on the NAS from my computer but when I try and read
the files, I get the "network name is no longer available" error. I was able
to add another folder to the NAS. I have a Windows 2K Pro computer on the
network. It can access the NAS without any problems. I just discovered
that, I should have checked that computer before my initial question.
