The spacebar does not work in a word document

I am working for an international company, in their programs I can use the
spacebar in word, but when I open a word document without their programs
being open, then the spacebar does not work in word. The only thing that I
change in the past, was to use subscript and superscript for their work,
while I was in word.

Please advise why the spacebar does not work.

I think you need to ask the company's IT department. It sounds like they've
customized their environment to quite an extent, so they may have re-routed or
locked down somethings.
