The shortcut (.lnk file) is returned instead of the file or the folder that
is referenced by the path in the shortcut in the Open or in the Save dialog
box in Windows XP

cannot open (or save) using any shortcuts from inside any program. the
program tries to open the lnk file and does not open the target of the
shortcut. i have tried almost all the usual tricks (uninstall, sp2, repair
xp, reinstall sp2) no luck anyone have any ideas??
