The server "" timed out

I get this error message when I publish my website:

The server "" timed out. The current request did not complete successfully.

This appears to happen when 'listing subsites'.

I am using FrontPage 2003. It has been working with no problems for 2-3
years previously. I have been using FrontPage extensions and my website
provider supports this.

Immediately before this problem I tried to start a new photogallery page and
so I thought it was related to this. It was rather a large file. I deleted
the new page (and the files created) but it still had the same problem. My
website now seems to be corrupted (www.whitecottage.org).

I have looked at some possible solutions using a Google search but to no
avail. I have uninstalled FrontPage and reinstalled it but I still get the
same problem.

I have also started a new website and tried to import all the old html
pages, but this comes up with the same message, so I suppose the problem is
on my computer. (It does accept the index page, so I suppose I could try to
import one page at a time until the problem recurs.)

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is and how to overcome it?

Many thanks in advance,

Mike Elcock

Hello,

This means that the server is not responding. Try again a few minutes or
hours later. It could just be a server boot.

Thanks for these suggestions. It turns out that I had not renewed my
FrontPage server extensions with the hosting site! Now that is done, all
seems to be well.
