The quick launch part icon keeps refreshing every second, it never does this before

Hello all,

Can anyone explain why and help me to stop this crazy thing? This is
windows 2000 advance server.

I just want to clarify the problem a little bit more. That is, I have the
quick launch set on my task bar, next to the start button. After I reboot
the system the quick launch part of the task bar keeps refreshing every
second. The reason for rebooting the system was that I had to reinstall the
McAfee McShield software, which I don't think would have anything to do with
the crazy thing that the quick launch bar is doing. Thanks for any help.
