ah, yes, I see ... one of the reasons I recently "upgraded" my system is because of GW2

I have, in my eyes, a must have minimum.

a 64bit OS, yes, 64bit Windows
a Quad core Intel i5 2500, or an AMD equivalent ... or better
nVidia 500 series graphic card, or, an AMD equivalent ... mine is a 560 ... or better
8GB Ram, 4 will do, but ram is still cheap, and as you will be using a 64bit OS, an asset.
a good quality up-to-date motherboard, min USB 3 / SATA 3 specs

... if you have the retail (even OEM) Win7 DVD, then you can install the 64bit version from that DVD with the same license key, it works as long as it's on the same computer.

It took me 6months to get them bits, or shall I say, money, together. Living off incapacity is no fun when you need essential things, like a computer.

Oh great! I was hoping there would be another... after receiving that message, I'm curious to see what happens lol. (Having said that, being a stress test, things are potentially a bit "iffy" anyway, so it won't be an exact science. Still... interesting nonetheless.)

Quite a good converter/countdown clock to pre-launch, launch, plus tonight's stress-test, HERE. It can be set to show your own time-zone, depending upon where you are in the World.

Click on the little "cog" at the bottom, to change the background pic to any of GW2's races. Neat.

New Stress Test

specially for TC to test her new PC

This special test event takes place from
12:00 PM to 4:00 PM PDT on Tuesday, August 21

All you need to do is play normally with a new or existing character on your Beta account.

Due to the nature of the Stress Test, you might encounter crashes, disconnects, login difficulties, performance issues (lag), or problems transferring between maps.

Wow! That's a nice treat!!

Doubt if I'll be able to use new PC just yet though... The GW2 download will take a few hours on my connection, so might be cutting things a tad fine.

I'm presuming there isn't a way of transferring the game from one PC to another...? Nah, didn't think so...

Well, you can but try, you never know, the download may be faster, after all the downloads for updates to the other software. Me, I'd get the OS sorted, with MSE, then start on GW, but then, I'm the one getting up at 6am on Saturday.

I'm aiming to stick with my oldie for tonight... want to get everything "right" with new one first.

It's not long now... looking forward to the head start very much.
