I am a little confused about the whole "slide master" deal, like if I should be creating each different slide I want on a new Slide Master instead of just creating a bunch of new Layouts under ONE Slide Master.

Anyway, I selected all the Slide Masters and clicked on Header & Footer, and clicked add page numbers or what not... so in the Master View there is the footer (#) showing. However, back to normal view, there is no page numbers showing up. So annoying! I've been working on this for months and can't figure it out.

Help?

I personally would just create additional slide masters if there were major
differences. Think of it as a general layout. For example, you could have
one slide master with your slide title at the top and a graphic on the side.
And an additional slide master without the side graphic for slides with alot
of content. For me, having slide masters that just differed on text box
layout would be confusing.

As for viewing your page #, on PPT 2003, go to View > Header and Footer >
select (check mark) Slide Number and Footer > Apply to All. See if that
works.
