The page cannot be displayed

Having looked through the many posts on this topic I have still not been able
to resolve my problem. I am currently running an older machine with which has
98SE as the OS. One day after no updates, new software etc I could not view
web pages through IE. I could connect to internet, recieve/send email, play
an online game but could not view web pages. I have now installed Netscape
and can view web pages but would like to solve this problem and hopefully
learn a thing or two. Any help would be much appreciated, if anyone remembers
98SE.
