Page Cannot be Displayed

I am having an issue with IE 6. Whenever I try to load, I
recieve the notification "This page cannot be displayed."
I am on a network, and all the other computers in my lab
can access IE 6. I have since downloaded Netscape and it
works just fine.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE 6; no such luck. My
computer's OS is 98SE.

Does anyone have any suggestions for my dilema? I really
prefer Internet Explorer over Netscape.

Thank you,

Hi,

My explorer has been hanging up also and nothing was
loading. I KNOW that i am connected as i have a wireless
and can get aol online. by accident, as i was hitting all
my links at the top of explorer bar to see if something
would load, and one happens to be a secure link (an https)
site and IT loaded. so i tried changing all my settings
and that hasn't worked.

try this address:
https://www.verizonwireless.com/vzwapp/vzserve/loginform

if it loads we have at least narrowed the problem down.

I'm running w2000 professional with service pack 4 and all
security updates to include the explorer 6 service pack
just recently loaded.

Try running the Winsock repair tools on the very bottom
of this page:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

It is best if you run one or both of the following first:

Download/install/run Ad-Aware from:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
This will detect any spyware on your system. When you run Ad-Aware, click on
the ref update to get the latest up-to-date ref file, run Ad-Aware and
delete everything it finds.

If you are more advanced, then download/install/run:
Spybot - Search & Destroy from :
http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang=en&page=download

Hope this helps.

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
