"The OLE object is empty" error

I have created an OLE field and placed it in a form. I use the field to
attach documents to the database. Whenever I try to exit the form and the
field is empty -I always get a "The OLE object is empty" message which is a
nuisance as I don't always attach a document. How can I disable this
message? Thanks for any help!

I know this is not the answer you are looking for ; but you might try simply
putting in a default value ....like "OLE"

and see if this will avoid the error message

Open the table in Design view. Do you have the Required property set to Yes
for the pertinent field?

Do you have any code behind this form?

Is the error only generated on new records without an OLE object inserted
or does it happen for existing records without an OLE obbject as well?
