the "News" command is absent from the Go menu ...

Hi,

I was setting the news reader but encountered a problem. According to
the document, I added the News command to the Go menu by dragging the
"News" command from the customization dialog box to the "Go" menu. I
set up my news group and tried to post a message. Later an
undeliverable email was sent back to my inBox. That's fine. I think I
didn't set news reader account right. But now the problem is that the
"News" is absent from the Go menu. I cannot access it from the Go menu
anymore. I go to the customization dialog box, the "News" command is
absent there too. So I cannot re-drag the command to the Go menu
either. I am totally stuck. Do you have any idea what's happening
here. Any help or advise is much appreciated.

Russ,

You know what? All of my setting can be found in Outlook Express. It
puzzles me now. Is there any connection between outlook and outlook
express?

The two programs are unrelated. Outlook is not a news reader. It launches
Outlook Express to do news reading.
To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.
