The menu item "Mail Recipient (As Attachment)" is missing

I have 'lost' the option to send an open WORD document as a mail attachment
using the File-Send To-Mail Recipient-As Attachment. This appears to have
been replaced by "As Text".
I am able to send any open file as an attachment in any other Office 2003
Application.

Ran into this myself. The fix is simple:

1. In MS Word, select the Tools menu.
2. From the drop-down menu, select Options.
3. From the Options window, click the General Tab.
4. Make sure that "Mail as attachment" is checked.
5. Click ok to save changes.
