Go to Start, Run, and enter "ipconfig" and hit OK. On
the General tab, click on Selective Startup and uncheck
Load Startup Items. Hit Apply, then Ok and you will be
asked to Restart. Restart the machine and see if the
problem has disappeared. If so, you now know that one of
the startup items is the cause. You would then follow
the same steps above to start the MSConfig utility, click
on the Startup tab and through a process of elimination,
you can start re-checking items on the startup tab until
you determine which item is the cause.
If after your first attempt the problem continues, follow
the same steps above and go back to General tab and
recheck Normal Startup.
You can also download a copy of Ad-Aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com and scan your system for possible
Spyware/Adware that may be the cause. After scanning
your system you can post your results at
www.lavasoftsupport.com and obtain further advice.
