the free trial Word isn't allowing the capabilities on page

I opened WORD and tried to insert a table, but nothing activates on the
toolbar. I can't access any other capability from the toolbar for my
document?
 
Perhaps the trial version has expired? If so, you will have to purchase the
full version.
