The end of a golden era

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

The nay sayers have said the same thing with every major release of Windows.

Time and time again they have been proven wrong.

I am noticing quite the trend, between Regressive Realization and John Jay
Smith. I think I can quote all their posts by heart...

Let me try real quick..

"Waah! Waah! Media Player Sucks! Waah! Waah! IE7 Sucks! Waah! Waah!
Microsoft Sucks! Waah! Waah!"... Oh wait, from there on, just repeat.

With these two, and I could probably name a couple more, but these two at
the top of the list, are the most crying whining people I have ever seen.

REGRESSIVE, JOHN! Here's a grand idea! Probably one you have never even
thought of.. Ready? Here it is:

Quit your bitching! If you don't like it, don't use it. I am sure Microsoft
will not cry about the loss of business from you two! But sitting here
bitching, and whining, and crying, and tossing little fits, oh, did I mention
bitching, whining and crying?
Look, if you don't like it, don't freaking use it! It isn't that difficult.
You are like the moron who hits himself in the head with a bat, says, "Ouch,
that hurts! Let me try it again to see if that's it." and continues to beat
himself senseless.

You don't like it, you have made that clear. Enough said. MOVE ON! And let
this group be used for what it is intended for. Reasonable discussion, help,
and support.

Thanks for the nothing you have offered, and have a nice day.

approval.

Dude... it's happened to me... thought I was replying to a specific msg and
when my reply was posted, it showed up under another post. This guy wasn't
diss'in you, he was responding to the original post.

He agrees with you.

Jes' a matter of semantics, but I prefer to refer to these crackpots as
malcontents. Notice how the dude drops his bombs and then never responds to
replies? He's like those emails that warn about viruses and tell you to
forward them on to your friends to warn them but the email's bogus. Bogus
malcontent. How's that? ;-D

Andy Grove (do you know who he is?) once said - Only paranoid can survive.

I remember there was a brand name called IBM PC and another one - Compaq.

But I haven‚t been able to find them for many years and I wonder where they
are now? Let me know just in case you've found them.

Ah yes.

Despite the wishful thinking of Windows 'fans' (presumably there are some),
Apple Computer Inc is by far the longest lasting "Personal Computer" maker
in the world.

IBM PC Division, "Born" 1981, "Died" 2004
Compaq, "Born" 1982, "Died" 2002

Apple Computer, "Born" 1976, now going stronger than ever!

Note: HP while as a company is older than Apple does not count as they did
not start making "Personal Computers" until well after Apple. The Apple ][
is considered the worlds first true "Personal Computer". Dell is a relative
newcomer having been founded in 1984.

Other early brands that have fallen by the wayside include Commodore, Atari,
and Tandy.

I only hope Apple could have learned one or two things from this company and
it will be much more stronger now, and many people including myself would
switch with no hesitation.

Or trolls, whose only purpose for posting such junk is to start these types
of threads. :)

Ten or so years ago I would agree to a "switching" model.

These days in the 21st C I think the more constructive model is: go for
both :)

I'd love to see an AMD powered Mac :)

Well,

That's a good tip, but I wonder its overall compatibility with various
hardware, drivers, accessories, office and development applications?

You know those are things binding most people, not the OS if self.

That's why DOJ wishes to break up this company into several parts.

You must have missed the same notice I missed designating that clown to be
God. While I have a very substantial ego, it pales beside of jjj's ego. I
have never felt so self-inflated that if I did not like something I felt the
world would end or some other dastardly event would occur. I always thought
that my opinion counted just as my vote counts - as 1 out of many (unless you
are Lyndon B. Johnson where 86 dead people arose from the grave and voted in
alphabetical order in Duvall county in Texas in LBJ's first congressional
race which was very, very close to the margin of victory he had in that
county). Of course, I am unable to list on my resume the position of God and
the associated experience and responsibility. Ahhh, that must be a very heavy
burden for a mere mortal to bear.

We should be sure to let jjj know how much we appreciate him looking out for
us and deciding rather or not we should like something or not since
apparently we are not able to do that ourselves.

Perhaps jjj can let us know what type of car he prefers so we can also be
sure and get a car he likes which is obviously the only "correct" car to buy,
not one we like. I falsely assumed that was why there were a variety of
automobiles - different people like different things. Apparently that is a
novel concept for some - different people liking different things and having
different opinions (that is why they are called opinions and are not called
facts).

I am not faulting jjj's opinion he has every right to it, I agree with the
old adage "I may not agree with what you are saying but I will die defending
your right to say it". What I find distastful is the implied meaning that if
an opinion differs from his then the opinion is from type of idiot. I look in
the mirror every morning when I shave, I do not see an idiot there. I am not
sure everyone can make that same statement.

I wonder if it is a prerequisite? (Imbibing alcoholic beverages before
posting I mean.)

If it is, well, I feel duty bound to give it a go.

Is there or are there any recommendations?

I do some of my best work with Grey Goose L'Orange, cranberry juice and a
lime slice, but as with all things, YMMV...

Thanks, Mark. Finally installed 5840 on a seat here in San Diego and am using

I'm trying to run projects in Wichita, Omaha and Macon, right now,
diagnosing copper for Cox so they can move from voiceports to VOIP. I
haven't seen my hotel room in three days. I had to buy a paper to tell what
day it was. Starbucks called to ask if I wanted a volume discount card.
Currently in an airport, somewhere, not sure which one... I'll get back
home Sunday to change suitcases and see if the g/f still recognizes me.
