The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\D

I recently added a second sata hard drive to my pc and when I connect
my ipod in disk mode I get a "The driver detected a controller error
on \Device\Harddisk2\D" error. Before adding the hard drive I never
got this and it only occurs when I try to "mount" my ipod. I have
spent hours searching for an answer with no luck. Both hard drives
have only one partition on them and the second one is just used for
backing up files. I even tried switching the sata port that my second
hard drive was plugged in to with no luck. If anybody knows what I
should do or could do it would be greatly appreciated.

I would go to start/run, and type:
diskmgmt.msc

Rightclick the new SATA drive letter, and change it to another unused
letter.

ipod does not even show in diskmgmt when it is connected and comes up
as "USB Removable Storage (E:)
