The dreaded 0x8007064c error and MS Live Safety Center!

It has been a good month now since the last install attempt of WD. I was
thinking of trying it, however, I first decided to search Google, Yahoo and
MSN about: "0x8007064c. The installation source for this productis not
available. Verify the source exists and that you can access it." Well I
discovered the issue (with no resolution, save for one on this site) has been
posted on a multitude of forums around the world so I think I'll still wait!
However, it did get me thinking, do you suppose the MS Safety Scan is
utilizing the updated versions of WD and MS Malicious Software Removal Tool?

I've heard it stated that the definitions at safety.live.com will be the
latest that Microsoft has available. It also states that it is scanning for
spyware--but I haven't seen detections of spyware yet.

I've no doubt that if they are scanning for spyware, they are using the
definitions also available for Windows Defender. On the antivirus
side--they are running antivirus definitions which will also be used by
OneCare and Microsoft Client Protection. I'm not sure where the Malicious
software removal tool comes in--but I would expect those definitions are in
there, too.
