The browser has forced an election on network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{A512A131-2F35

I have an XP Pro PC setup with a NetGear PA101 USB
Phoneline adapter. This adapter has been working
flwalessly for a couple of years. But within the past two
weeks has been myteriously 'disabled', cutting off
internet access.

The Event ID is 8033, the source is BROWSER, and the
symbolic name is 'The browser has forced an election on
network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{A512A131-2F35-4077-B062-
F88610477DB8} because a master browser was stopped.' The
message is 'The browser has forced an election on network
%1 because a master browser was stopped.'

What is disabling or causing the adapter to be disabled?

Thanks for any help.

Something could be causing signals on the phone line that make the
adapter lose its connection. The adapter could be going bad.

Steve:

Thanks for your response. You may be right about the
adapter. I wonder though, I have two other iedntical
adapters on my network, but none of them have been
disabling. I guess that any possible interference on the
phoneline is impacting an ailing adapter?

Maybee it is time to go wireless.

Thanks,
