Ho do I stop my server from forcing elections. The error that I am getting is
as follows:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: BROWSER
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8033
Date: 3/21/2006
Time: 4:14:02 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SERVER
Description:
The browser has forced an election on network
\Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{CD5CDF64-A746-4630-97F4-33DAFAABBE6C} because a master
browser was stopped.

I have not seen this before. We are just in a Workgroup with 7 workstations.

Please help this causes excess traffic every few hours.

For the Windows NT'ish machines

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters

Set all but the pc designated as browse master to

MaintainServerList = "Auto"
IsDomainMaster = "False"

On the win9x machines, Control Panel|Network, then on the "Protocols" tab
scroll down to "File and Printer sharing for Microsoft Networks, then
"Properties", then for the "Browse Master" property, choose "Disabled"

and you'll have no more elections.
