I presently have a 128 meg AGP ATI 9600 series card and when I questioned
gateway for the drivers for my new GW FPD2275W monitor they suggested I
should upgrade to one of the latest cards? Not wanting go out and just
purchased the top end card considering I'm not a gamer, but do home video
editing as a hobby I would like to have a card which offers DVI & analog
monitor usage at the same time. What are some suggestions from those who are
more knowledgeable than I, and why you suggested a particular card?

What's wrong with the 9600? Should be plenty for your needs.

That card should support 1680x1050 flat panel resolutions
Is there a problem?

Seems like some dumb ass support person has feed you a line of BS. Your card
should work great. Since you're not a gamer(which said support person
probably assumed) your card should do just fine. JLC
