The Accounts and Business Contacts

I thought Business Contacts were for vendors and such and Accounts for
Clients and prospects.

After at least getting the BCM for SmartPhone working I take it it is the
reverce? I read the online help and am still confused as the first time I
wrote it before using it. I also see the auto-link only happens in Business
Contacts so I assume clients and prospects go in Biz Contacts?

I think I don't understand exactly what you mean. Are vendors your
suppliers?

Yes A local pc repair shop I would take laptops to get fixed as I do not
service non-user serviceable hardware.

Maybe this will make it easier. Where do I put the contacts of my clients
and prospects?

I think you misinterpret the workings of BCM. MS never really thought
of your vendors. Accounts are the overall labels of the clinet
organizations you're working with, although I think you can use them
for projects as well. The contacts are the individual persons you can
place under the account. It is possible that one person is part of
more accounts, but I never tried if BCM permits such a combination.
You can use BCM for your vendors as well, but only for personal and
adress data. I don't think you can use it for marketing or sales
purposes (your costs).
If you want to have a good program that combines clients with vendors
perhaps MS Project is something for you. I did try that once, but it
takes a lot of exercise to work right with it, so I stopped using it.
But then you have your projects completely under control.
You can also try MS Access and of course ACT!, but the first takes a
lot of exercise as well, and the second is rather expensive.

Ah! It has to do with syncing your phone.
When you put organisations and companies under accounts, whether they
are clients, prospects or vendors, you can put the individual employee-
contacts under the Business contacts of that org/company. Is his phone
number the same as the company's phone number? Then copy the company
phone number into the contactphonenumber.

Strange that you can't sync Accounts. My Nokia N73 can, with PC Sync.
Pity that with PC Sync it is not possible to use more folders for
syncing: you have to choose between Accounts or Business Contacts.
