Text shadow created in ppt 2000 and displayed in ppt 2007

When ppt 2000 shadow is displayed in 2007 it is embeded on the slide and the
text wipes over it. How can I get ride of the embedded shadow? The file has
been converted to ppt 2007. The background for the shadow is a map or
picture.
