System: Microsoft Office 2000 SR3 with all Patches
installed.

We have a problem with many of any Excel Spreadsheets
where some cells that have a sizeable amount of text are
not displaying all the text, it just cuts off towards the
end. If you edit the text it is all there, but when you
enter it, it just disappears again.

This problems occurs on our spreadsheets where the
information is entered manually, and also on spreadsheets
where the data is imported from a SQL database.

My research on this problem has come up with nothing, and
my users are getting impatient as when they print these
spreadsheets out - important information is missed off.

Please help.

Steve,

I believe Excel will only display the first 1024
characters in a cell, although you can type far more.

If you need to enter/view that much text, maybe Excel
isn't the right thing to use..

Perhaps inserting a textbox from Autoshapes might help.
You then can enter all the text necessary into the textbox.

This might be a stupid suggestion but have you tried wrapping your text?

Excel's help says you can see about 1000 characters in a cell, but all 32k
characters will show up in the formula bar.

You can exceed that 1000 character limit by adding some alt-enters to your
text. You may have to resize the rowheight (excel gives up after a while) and
adjust the columnwidth (and maybe font???).

I don't have a solution for adjusting the cells updated via SQL.
