when I select outline mode in powerpoint I write and the title appears in the
slide but when I press enter to write in the subtitle for the same slide it
jumps to the next slide in the outline pane. creating another slide. How can
I move down to subtaitle area of the slide. I know how to write in normal
pane whaT TO WRITE IN OUTLINE PANE

Hit Enter (it will create a second slide) then Tab. The tab will demote that
second line.

That will let you type in the text placeholder, but there isn't really a
subtitle area. If you mean that you need a second line on your title, you
could use Shift+Enter to create a soft return.

Thanks ...was able to return to first slide in outline pane with the tab
....BUT now I hit enter the text becomes smaller and smaller and I CANT
continue writing in outline pane more text for more slides in my presentation
after the title slide in the outline mode.

Use Shift+Tab to promote the text in Outline View.

PPT has lots of help files on working in an outline. If you type the word
Outline in the help box, you might find some info that's useful. Or you can
start here: http://tinyurl.com/borrr

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP051925871033.aspx also might
be enough to get you going.
