I use PowerPoint 2003 for PC and have always worked in Normal view when
preparing a presentation with the Slides rather than Outline selected
for the left pane (I have never understood the point of Outline view).
I have just bought a new Mac Laptop together with PowerPoint 2004 and
am sorely missing the slides option in the normal view. Is there any
way of switching from Outline to Slides in that left pane???

Seeing the slides was invaluable (for changing order, deleting,
duplicating, navigating the show, etc.) I cannot imagine what possible
value Outline has.

Can anyone help. Please!

You might want to ask this in the Mac PPT group -- you'll probably get a
better answer (or at least any answer! lol) there.

Since you're posting via Google Groups, you'll want to look for
microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint

Horses for courses ... I've always liked Outline view for quickly entering lots
of text but never had much use for the slide miniatures view.

I don't believe that's available on the Mac version of PPT. I guess if you buy
a Mac, Bill knows and punishes. <g>

Thanks for you suggestion Echo S. I'll try the Mac group (I'm still a
Mac newby... actually a kind of PC-Mac hybrid newby as I still use PC
desktop!). I'm rather losing hope of getting-back the slides in normal
view that I found so valuable, however the presenter view with next
slide preview, and superb Mac-style drop-shadows more than compensate!

Thanks. I feel suitably chastened! Maybe 2007 will fix it?

You mentioned the lovely MacDropShadows in your reply to Echo. Wait'll you see
what you can do in 2007 (Windows for certain, and most probably Mac).
