I can receive emails in Outlook 2007 but can not open them. I can not send a
new email either as I get the same error message. This program was working
fine up until a few days ago. I have un-installed and re-installed Office
twice, removed and added my profile, nothing helps. Any ideas???

And that error message would be (exact words please)?

I am having the same problems maryann was. I have tried to add a new profile
in Control panel/users/mail but it hasn't fixed it. Any ideas? Thanks.

The error message that I am getting states:
The text formatting command is not available. It may not be installed
correctly. Install Microsoft Office Outlook again. An OLE registration
error occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run setup again for
the program.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire Office software twice,
began a new profile, updated / reinstalled the new version of IE, but to no
avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is getting to the point
where I am at a standstill trying to do anything in Outlook. I am running
Office 2007 Proffessional Plus on a Windows Vista Ultimate. Hope that helps.

I found that if you hold down the Ctrl key when opening Outlook it will
prompt you if you want to open in safe mode. If I open in safe mode then this
problem goes away. Actually, it happened once in safe mode but I closed
Outlook and reopened it (in safe mode again) and it started working again.
Not the ideal solution I realize, but at least it lets you use Outlook until
you find the problem, reimage, etc.

Did anyone figure out how to fix this? One of our manager's has a laptop
with Outlook 2000 and it started it last Thursday. I too have uninstalled,
reinstalled, fussed and kicked dirt at it but nothing works. I can't find
anything at all on this!

I tried the Safe mode start up and worked. But obviously not a
permanent solution. Like some others, in normal mode, clicking editing
options in tools menu crashes Outlook.

If you find that safe mode works, it is an indication you have a faulty
add-in causing the problem. disable them all and enable them one at a time
until you find the one producing the error.
