Text editor with coloured text ?

If I reply to a newsgroup item Agent makes the quoted material (lines
starting eg. ">") a different colour. Is there a text editor that does
this as well please ?

Great ! Thank you. I have the first installed but when I pasted this
post in it everything was the same colour. Could you tell me where/how
I get the quoted material another colour please ?

Do I need to also configure SciTE somewhere as well ? If so help on
that would be handy too.

You can configure some of the text editors to treat lines
beginning with a given string as comments, and format them
accordingly.

The problem with all the text editors I've seen thus far is that
they allow for only one level of comment in a given language.
Thus you will not be able to differentiate among different email
quote levels.
