Text editor with coloured text ?

Thanks, but when I pasted this post in Notepad++ everything was the
same colour. Where/how do I get what I want please ?

Choose Diff setting in Languages menu.

If I reply to a newsgroup item Agent makes the quoted material (lines
starting eg. ">") a different colour. Is there a text editor that does
this as well please ?

You can configure some of the text editors to treat lines
beginning with a given string as comments, and format them
accordingly.

The problem with all the text editors I've seen thus far is that
they allow for only one level of comment in a given language.
Thus you will not be able to differentiate among different email
quote levels.
