Text data will not import into Access 2003

I was just upgraded to Access 2003 and can't seem to import a text file.
When I attempt, I am able to select the file, but when I hit 'Import' the
cursor turns into an hour glass for a second then goes away. Nothing further
happens. Are there security features built into this new version that won't
allow me to import data unless I change the settings?

I would suggest running a couple of tests.

Try importing the text file to Excel, and see what happens. Also, try
importing another simple text file.

It sounds more like there may be something in the text file that Access
doesn't understand. Perhaps one or more Control characters.

Unfortunately, those ideas did not work.

The files are clean and have been imported into my older version of Access.
Can you think of any security measures that I may have to down grade?

My apologies, but I am not finding anything that would/should have an effect
on file importing.
