Text box and drawing box

Every time I insert a text box in a document i get this drawing square. How
do I get rid of it. Thank you.

Go to Tools > Options > General and uncheck "Automatically create
drawing canvas".

Hello Irene-

I believe what you are referring to is the Drawing Canvas. If you prefer to
_not_ have it, go to Tools>Options--General and remove the check for
'Automatically create Drawing Canvas...'.
