Testing Prescott Celeron

I want to test if a Prescott Celeron 2.4 GHz can run on Gigabyte 8IDX
i845 motherboard which officially does not support it. Can I possibly
destroy something by trying it?

Probably not, as long as the Gigabyte board supports the slower Celeron FSB and
Pentium 4 CPUs in the same speed range... Ben Myers
