Have been hearing a lot about Tesco over the last few months and how some people feel they are complacent these days.

I just wondered if any of you have ordered games or anything else from them and what your experience is with them ?.

Not sure if I should order anything from their direct site as I have read on other forums that customers have had problems with them, either online or if it be in store.

Of course all places will have bad feedback as people arn't so fast to compliment when its due.

Although other forum users claim they are taking over the country and causing many companies to close as they just can't compete anymore. If thats true, maybe they'll start buying up other companies and we'll have no choice but to buy all our TV's/Games/PC Hardware with the Tesco branded packaging lol

Any advice is appreciated.

Whoaaaa !. Has everyone turned their back on me or something ?. Disappointed no one had anything to say :(.

Oh well, its how it goes sometimes I guess.

I'm currently off work and on holiday, although the actual holiday got cancelled due to a family incident. Nearly £280 down the drain as we didn't have any cancelation insurance, but as long as things are ok, I don't care about the money.

I might leave the forum as I don't feel like I belong here anyway and it appears its more of a close knit family to me where only a few are truly trusted and are in the Burns Circle of Trust, even when others have been members for years already. Not a dig, but it is naturally like that sometimes, so is cool with me.

I've got an appointment for my new tattoo in a week. Had to book it about 4 - 5 months ago, as thats how long the wait list is at my local studio. Gone for a 1940's Pin Up which I hope will look great.

Anyway, doubt I'll be making anymore posts and will close this account but I'll still keep looking in as I have always done, so I can read all the interesting stuff.

Thanks for having me:thumb:

I missed the original post so didn't reply.

Only experience I've had with Tescos was ordering a game shown as in stock only to be told it was out of stock and was unlikely to ever be in stock again so because of that I don't use Tescos.

Tescos will never take over from the likes of Amazon, Play.com and specialist computer component suppliers.

Tescos was so named by a geezer named Cohen whose wife's name was Tessie.

Sorry about your family incident and the lost wonga.

About you feeling like you don't belong here you're talking *******s and I think you should drag yourself out of sulksville and stop feeling sorry for yourself.

We are NOT a clique and I feel insulted for you thinking we are. There are a few members who may sometimes take that approach but rest assured the majority of the regulars here welcome new blood, we want new faces and we want the regulars to stay, believe me.

You've been here five years, your contributiuons have been interesting but if you want to bugger off then who am I to stop you? Bye bye :)

And you can't close your account, all you can do is desist from posting and thus stop taking part.

Which I personally hope you don't do.

So, to stay or not to stay? That is the question.

And don't use Tescos - they're crap :)

Your welcome here we don't have a clique here but sometimes its just a few of us that frequent this domain, lots visit but never post!
Tesco and most other supermarkets out there have small entertainment sections in there stores and cannot compete with the big internet retailers like Amazon etc etc so yes sometimes they don't have what you want in stock, remember they are primarily a food outlet, anything they sell on the side is a bonus, I picked up a £20 Logitech mouse for £3 yesterday at Tesco's..

Hay CBS don't leave, I like FBS missed your post sorry. Sorry to hear about your lost holiday deposit it is a bit of a bugger and it was no small amount. I have since I have married the present Mrs Barwick I have always booked our own air flights and hotels that of course would mean I would lose a lot of money as it wouldn't be covered by insurance. As for Tesco I haven't ordered much from them but what I have ordered arrived on time, it was some flat pack furniture which went to gather well and is in the living room. As for leaving the site please don't as as nothing is meant by members not replying to posts as sometimes we miss ones that have come in and to be honest should one miss a couple of days of checking the forum one can miss a post.

I don't do shopping but I did buy a mountain bike at Tesco earlier this year, using their online ordering system. Picked it up at the nearest store, got it home and then found that the front wheel wouldn't fit in the front forks as they were out of line.

Took it back to the store and they changed it with barely a question asked. I really thought that their service was excellent. :)

Mate of mine bought a PC at Tesco and said that they do have special deals every now and then but you just have to keep looking and one day something will turn up.

It's not unusual to have posts missed - it happens to all of us. As to the "regulars", in their close knit family, and Burns Circle of Trust, well, without them, the forum, like all forums, wouldn't exist. We are the ones who do 90% of the posts but that happens on all forums and once "outsiders" start doing posts regularly then they become "regulars". :D (like you)

Ever thought of doing some crunching? It helps bring people together to some extent. :thumb:

I dont get to surf much here due to work and i'm on today as i'm off work on leave.
It does depend on what you post and i read your post, but have not bought anything major from Tescos apart from the odd print cartridge, but they do offer good value with some goods.

It's up to you if you decide to go or not, only you can decide.

Hi all

First of all I should apologise to FBS and everyone else for the insinuation that there is a clique on this forum. I certainly did not mean for it to sound like that but was one of the thoughts in my brain at the time so it came out on screen.

Second apology is for my feeling sorry for myself kind of presence on here sometimes. Again, it is not intentional and is one of my flaws I guess and we're all allowed to have at least one flaw aren’t we? even though I probably have many, but that helps make up for those who don't have any flaws lol.

As for Tesco, I certainly hope they don't take over from the likes of Amazon and all the other great online only sites, but if you look at the way Tesco have been growing, it feels you soon won't be able to look left and right on the street without seeing one of their f-ing express stores and helping to close down local stores that had once been there for many years but can no longer compete with their prices and range. Tesco now sell second hand cars for prices higher than most other places I found out and had expanded some time into America with "Fresh 'n' Easy" brand.

I too bought a bike from Tesco which was reduced from £100 to £50 (Stealth Solar front and rear suspension 15 speed grip shift) and when put together, the front suspension doesn't go down at all (followed all instructions), even though I put all of my weight on it with some force to see if that would help it spring into action, but no. There is other minor niggles so I did think about taking it back but for the price I got it for, I just couldn't be bothered and learnt never to buy one from them again.

Some years ago I used to love cycling and had a top end £550 bike with all the extras like disc brakes and a fantastic light frame, but that got stolen and the police found the person only made them pay back £300. That money was only paid directly to my account like once every couple of months of no more than £5 instalments or £10 on one or more occasions, so I guess the thief was most likely unemployed and claiming they couldn't pay any more. So you can imagine why I never bothered to get another until now and this was only for some cardio to go with my Bodybuilding that I used to do when younger but have since took it back up again about 6 months ago.

So I run, take the bike out sometimes along with other general cardio to go with the training as it’s the only way to lose fat of course (not that I need to lose much but I want to get back into the lean muscular look I had before). To add, I have of course changed my diet to a high protein, moderate carbs and low fat accompanied with Calcium, vitamin D, E, B6 (the most important B vitamin for bodybuilders) and other B-Complex vitamins as B6 can only work most effectively with some of the others in your system. Bear in mind that some of these can only stay in your system for 4 - 6 hours on average during intense training, so is important to take these every day. Oh and the good ole Cod Liver Oil ... yummy lol.

This has of course taken up a lot more of my free time, so is another reason why I have felt like I'm on a small wooden 1 person boat drifting out to sea away from you all.

I do realise it all depends on how interesting the subject is and how often we can all visit the site and spend time to post. I could type "Big Boobs" which may have got more attention but wouldn't be appreciated would it when it’s only me complaining lol.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say after getting way off track is a big Thank You to you all.

Rob.

Hi Rob nice to know you are still there:wave:. As far as Tesco's is concerned I don't think they will ever take over from Amazon as although Tesco does have some bargains the prices and amount of goods will never compare with Amazon's. If you look at Tesco at Home book they haven't got the choice that Amazon has e.g. camera's ther have only a few makes and limited models, IT is the same only a certain amount of products but with Amazon the sky is the limit except as far as I know Amazon does not sell a pint of milk or 1k of sugar. Any way nice you have not left left us.:D

Hi all

Sorry I havn't replied sooner.

Thanks bootneck02 and V_R. I've been busy and feel like I don't have a minute for myself lol. Oh well, at least I have tomorrow off now for my tattoo. Maria (Tattoo artist) sent me another email to ask me to go in at 1pm instead of 2.30pm as originally planed.

She feels the design is going to take longer, which I hope means she will be putting more detail into it .

Whilst looking through their Pin Up tattoo design books, I did take a picture of one design before being asked to not take any more. All I was going to do was take one pic of the 2 designs I couldn't choose from and then get back to Maria at a later date. I guess the woman (Jo I think her name was) must have thought I was possibly trying to sell them or something, who knows ... jeez ... I should ask her for permission to enter the studio tomorrow before she comes at me with fists pounding ... help .. Man beater on the loose .... get her off me ... get her off me .... lol. Customer Service training wouldn't hurt her.

Is £55 an hour and I currently have 3 hours booked, but will probably need more, especially if I have a background. I should be expecting Kat Von D for that lol ... joking, as it is reasonable in the tattoo world.

Maria is very good at her work as I have previously checked her out.

See below for the pic I took before being told not to take anymore. It isn't the one I'm getting but is similar style and will give you a sense of what I'm having exactly.

Had my Tattoo today, and I'm blown away.

Maria Fleet is fantastic !!!. I would advertise the studio but I realise we shouldn't plug anything on here, although I believe I have seen others do it.

The photo does not do it justice believe me, but is the best I could get on my phone. The kitchen light is spoiling the hair and face.

You can give the tattoo studio a plug CSB, you've asked, you're a regular, so go ahead, if you reckon they give a good service you could help somebody else looking for the same service who lives nearby.
