Terminal Services not working any more

Mike

Just wondering if anyone had this problem. I have a Win2K
Advanced Server with DNS and all and I also have Terminal
Service App installed. Everything worked greate for that
past 2 years. But just 2 days ago I found my FTP & Web
services stuck on "Starting" status. This is because I
have a scheduled script that runs to restart the IIS
services. I tryed restarting them but didn't work. So I
restarted the machine. The whole time I did all this using
Terminal Services. When the machine came back up, Terminal
Services stopped working all together. I've tried
reinstalling it and still nothing happened. When I'm in
the services panel, I see that Terminal Services status
is "Started" but I can't stop or start it for some reason.
I haven't installed anything on the server since the last
ms patch. Has anyone seen this problem before? I've
installed VNC at the moment to access the server but I
find it very slow at times. Any help would appreciated.

Thank you,

Mike

The fact that you can't stop or restart the Terminal Services
service is by design and nothing to worry about in itself.

Can you run a "netstat -an" command to see if the server is
listening on port 3389?
What do you see in TS Manager? Do you have a listener session?
What status does it have?
Is there anything in the EventLog?
