Temporary Internet Files folder

Can someone tell me where the XP equivalent of the Temporary Internet Files folder is kept so that I can empty it from time to time?

I have four user accounts on my pc - is there a single cache files folder for all accounts, or will I be deleting only those temporary files generated by my own account?

Likewise, when I delete the history and cookies using the Control Panel>Internet Options, will i be deleting all stuff, or just the stuff generated by my own account?

Many Thanks
Ian.

You are kidding right? The button to clean out the TIF
is right next to the delete cookies button you say you
use.

Ian,
Did you understand the answer to your question ? I didn't think you were
kidding. It seemed like a logical question to me. So far as I know when you
clear those files you will be deleting them only from your account and not
from any other users accounts on your machine. At least that is how it works
on my machine. But what do I know!

Ian;
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name here\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup | highlight Temporary Internet Files |
View Files button

Right click the Internet Explorer icon | Properties | General tab | Settings button | View Files button

Yep, I understood the answer - it just wasn't the answer to the question I asked. All I'm asking is where in the directory structure the Temporary Internet Files folder is. I know I can delete files from the Control Panel, but I want to be able to find the folder.

That is what I meant, that the answer given had nothing to do with the
question you asked and if it did, I did not understand it.
The question I referred to later had to do with your asking if deleteting
your temporary files also deleted all other users temporary files.
I believe your other questions were answered in subsequent posts.
Hope I did not confuse the issue too much with my comments.

Cheers m8 - the last one worked in that I finally got a list of the files and was able to view and delete them - although I still don't actually know where these files are stored on the directory structure.

Wes gave you the structure, That's where they are. You could do a search using your search
tool and find out where all of them are for IE by keying in Temporary Internet Files.
Then you'll see everything along with the path as it is on your computer.
This is pretty basic, so I hope I'm not insulting you with something you already know.

Absolutely no insult taken m8 - I had already tried the search on the various components of temporary internet files - nothing returned, which I thought was odd. XP doesn't seem to want me to find them!!!

Ian;
Start | Run | Type: %TEMP% | OK

Look at :
C:\DOCUME~1\You~1.You\LOCALS~1
C:\DOCUME~1\You~1.You\LOCALS~1\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
C:\DOCUME~1\You~1.You\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
in the tree structure in the left hand pane. You will probably have to click the
Folder icon in the Tool Bar to see it.
Note; There are two listings for \Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Ian;
When you use Search you have to set the Advanced Options.
Also;
Start | Settings | Control Panel | Folder Options | View tab
Check:
 Display the contents of system folders
 Show hidden files and folders
UNCheck:
 Hide protected operating system files
Apply | OK
