When user prints slides to HP LaserJet 5Si MX, the text
prints but not the template. Same slides print fine to a
Kyocera Mita printer. Have downloaded and installed the
latest print drivers from HP. Please advise.

Oh, The app. is PowerPoint 2000

have you tried the different options ie hand outs, speaker
notes. etc..?if you try using the handout option you can
put up to 6 on a page....

Hadn't tried that as she needs one slide per page
(Executive Admin). I will say that the same settings work
fine when printing to the Mita.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

By chance, is the Kyocera Mita printer one of their full color models?

If so, PowerPoint automatically detects whether a printer is monochrome
(such as HP LaserJet 5 Si MX) vs. color capable and changes how it
prints, accordingly. When printing in grayscale mode it's quite likely that
your slide design (background/template) will not print (depending on what
type of background you have and the Black and White settings associated
with it). You can adjust the settings while in the correct view (View ->
Black and White). For more information on how to adjust these settings,
check the built in help topic: "Preivew and change what slides will look
like when printed in black and white"
