Templates from former PPT

How come in 2007 it requires an entire file download rather than simply
applying a former template like in 2003?
I want it to work the way it used to.

Lot's of things have changed in Office 2007, but your question is a
PowerPoint one. Your question may be better answered in the PowerPoint
newsgroup appropriate to your problem. This newsgroup is dedicated to the
Microsoft Access database product. The Microsoft website may have
misdirected you.

An interesting look at the creation of Access Templates is to review the
templates
with one of the Authors of Template creation.
Zac W. Book called The Rational Guid to Microsoft Office Access Templates
and creating your own..
